Rehearsal: Saturday, 2/12 – 9am to 2pm
Show: Thursday, 2/17 – 5pm call
The Basics
The goal of the Playmaking program is staged readings with some light staging choices. There will be costumes and minimal props. We want to show the kids what happens once their work gets into the hands of professional artists. The student writers will not be at the rehearsal. On performance day the kids will sit on the stage in a big red chair while their plays are being performed.
- Please print and bring a copy of your play to rehearsal. I’ll also have some extras on hand.
- Actors will have scripts in hand.
- There will be a set/costume/prop person on hand to work out ideas with you.
- I’ll be hosting the evening, reading show titles and stage directions. I’ll be at rehearsals if there’s anything we need to work out.
Rehearsal/Performance Space
The rehearsal/performance is in the school auditorium. We’ll have two rehearsals going on at once. One on stage and the other at the back of the auditorium. Each group will get a chance to use the stage. We’ll have actor’s blocks, chairs, stools, etc.
