Hello, hello!
I’m trying to round up an additional 9 actors and 5 actresses to help with this volunteer program. Of course I thought of you internet dwellers. 🙂
Would you be available for this?
As producer for Astoria Performing Arts Center, I’m looking for actors to add to our list of:
Super-Awesome-Theater-Artists-Who-Like-to-Make-Kids-Smile
(Yes, I have a list!)
We need you to act in/or direct plays written by middle school kids. You won’t be working directly with the kids. Actually, you’ll be surprising them – they’ll see their stories acted out for the first time in a staged reading.
Come volunteer for APAC’s Playmaking program
I’d need you for both the following dates:
=============
Saturday, April 9th – Rehearsal (1-hour per show)
(Between 9am – 2pm based on your availability.)
Thursday, April 14th – Show / After Party
(5pm – 8 ish)
=============
Both the show and rehearsal take place in Astoria (I’ll provide you the location once you confirm.) The time commitment is minimal.
If you, or someone you know, would be interested please send me an email directly at dave (at) APACny (dot) org to let me know.
More about the program…
If you’re not familiar with the program we spend 6 weeks working with middle school kids to help them write their own plays. Then we ask you to bring the plays to life for a staged reading.
It’s a great way to give back to the community kids by doing the stuff you are best at. It’s a lot of fun.
And just in case bringing a smile to a bunch of 6th graders isn’t enough to convince you, how’s this?
It’s also a great chance to come hang-out with us cool kids in Astoria. 😉
And, APAC takes the cast out after the show.
Take a moment now to check your calendar
Then send me an email directly at dave (at) APACny (dot) org to let me know.
Again, the dates I’d need you are:
=============
Saturday, April 9th – Rehearsal (1-hour per show)
(Between 9am – 2pm based on your availability.)
Thursday, April 14th – Show / After Party
(5pm – 8 ish)
=============
If you have any questions let me know.
Hope all is well.
Thanks,
Dave
P.S. Please let me know asap. I’ll be casting on a first to reply basis on Tuesday. And I don’t want to have to start posting pictures of heartbroken children. 😉
